Help us design a Center for Community Innovation and Design
Like the idea of a Centre for Community Design and Innovation here in Waterloo Region? See yourself or your organization making use of the Centre? Are you:
If you were unable to attend one of our workshops, but would still like to listen to our presentation, you can watch it online.
Once again, we welcome your contributions. Share your insights, impressions, and thoughts through our webforum.
And
We are not planning any additional workshops. However, if you are part of a network or larger group that is interested in the CCID, we would be happy to hear from you and add you to the mailing list for the final community forum/open house(s). In certain cases, we might be able to attend a meeting to present the results of our study.
You can contact us at:

- an entrepreneur starting a business with an environmental or social mandate
- a small business that is environmentally or socially responsible
- an artist or artists’ group sensitive to environmental and/or social issues
- an activist
- part of a small cooperative, not for profit organization, charity, or volunteer community group working toward positive change
- making plans
Hopefully you had an opportunity to participate in one of our workshops to provide us with your interests and insights. If not, we are planning a final community forum or open house, which will provide an opportunity for people to comment on the vision and models that have been developed. This will be an opportunity to inform the next steps of this initiative.
Workshops
From June through August our primary focus was on holding small workshops or focus groups. Each workshop was co-hosted by an organization interested in the concept of a CCID. Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their assistance. The workshops and hosts are listed on the right.
If you missed a workshop and would like to hear the presentation and offer your insights, please visit:

We are coming to the end of the study, but will do our best to incorporate your feedback – or at least document it for future action. (Please act quickly!)
'd like to invite you to a workshop where you can have a say on what sort of community innovation and design centre would help you achieve your goals (and why).

Our aim in these workshops is to talk about
- how a CCID would facilitate your work, now and in future
- constraints, challenges, assets, and opportunities
- what an ideal work space is, from your perspective, and
- your vision of a CCID
We also want to learn more about you as an innovator, entrepreneur, or activist and learn more about your organization or group.

About the workshop
We are planning on smaller get togethers of approximately 10 people, and expect our meeting to be no more than two hours long. The workshops will cover the topics noted in the provisional agenda and will give everyone an opportunity to share their opinions, experiences, and insights.
Date, time, length, and place depend on your availability. We look forward to meeting as many people as we can, and we look forward to meeting you in your favourite hangout - anywhere in Waterloo Region.
These workshops will be facilitated, and we will have a note taker on hand to record thoughts and ideas. We will likely have a questionnaire or survey for you to complete - perhaps prior to the workshop so that we can be bettter prepared. Outcomes of the workshop will be shared with participants. We would also like to share outcomes, with the rest of the community, provided you agree.
