Many people have noted their interest in being part of the Placemaker’s Circle, making a commitment to carry the concept forward. We expect there are also others that are interested and plan to hold a meeting in early November to bring everyone together. Our intent is to complete the first draft of the report prior to meeting so that everyone will have an opportunity to review the recommendations before their discussion. You will find a tentative agenda at the bottom of this page.

One of the starting points for us was a meeting at the CSI in Toronto – a bright and buzzing space alive with the activity of over one hundred organizations. We went back to visit and learn more. We’ve also been to 10 Carden in Guelph – a very different type of shared space. We think a tour of these – and other shared-space examples – would give ‘Placemakers’ a common grounding while sparking ideas and building enthusiasm.
Since there was little interest in this idea, we did not proceed with plans for a tour. For those interested in visiting the CSI in Toronto, check out their events page, because they host regular tours fo their space.
